How to make this site duller:
[This was sent to us by Peter from the UK. Thanks Peter.]
At the end of your Home Page, you say:
"To readers who object to our using colors on this web site, who feel the colors are too exciting, that the site should be simply in black-and-white (with perhaps a few touches of gray) we offer our sincere (Dull Men are always sincere) apologies. To these readers, we offer this suggestion: print out the pages using a black-and-white printer."
There is a easy way to make web sites duller using some options available on Internet Explorer 5.5:
Select "Tools" on the Menu Bar
Select "Internet Options..."
Select "Colors..."
Uncheck "Use Windows colors"
This should show "Text" as black and "Background" as grey
Click the "Visited" colour button and select the black square
Click "OK"
Click the "Unvisited" colour button and select the black square
Click "OK"
Uncheck "Use hover color"
Click "OK"
Select "Accessibility..."
Check "Ignore colors specified on Web pages"
Click "OK"
Select "Advanced"
Uncheck "Play animations"
Uncheck "Show pictures"
Click "OK"
You can still display an individual image (it might be something dull) by right-clicking the icon that represents the graphic and then clicking "Show Picture".
